About 50,000 women undergo IVF treatment in the UK every year, with just under half receiving funding from the NHS. This funding is being cut further.
Funding has already been completely cut in South Norfolk, mid-Essex and North-East Essex. NHS funding in Basildon & Brentwood, Bedfordshire, Ipswich, East Suffolk, and West Suffolk could also be cut completely soon. Other cuts have also occurred in Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, North East Lincolnshire and Somerset.
With news of NHS funded IVF services being “temporarily” suspended today in yet another district (Herts Valley area), the Fertility Network UK wants to hear from anyone being affected by all these cuts across England.
